It has been about two years since ICG became a part of the EverGreen Copyrights family. As I look back, I can say it has been a little like The Brady Bunch, where there were two separate families which ended up under one roof; figuring out who each other really was, who was really good at what, and what we could do to help each other as we all grew up. And now, after spending our first two years together, it’s pretty amazing to look back and note all the things we’ve been able to accomplish together. And of course, as a proud father, I need to pull out my wallet and show pictures (so to speak) of some of those achievements. First, ICG/EG now has an established creative layer to offer to our clients. The EverGreen team brings to us industry veterans from the promotion and exploitation areas of music publishing focusing on all areas of promoting copyrights, including advertising, films, television, games, digital providers, as well as traditional artist uses. With personnel and offices in New York, Nashville, L.A., and London, ICG/EG is able to support and promote very effectively in these areas for those participating clients. Another area of great change and improvement is the ICG staff. We have been able to welcome a number of good and experienced people to the family, including some positions which are new to ICG, such as Business Affairs, Finance, and enhancing our Audit team & Royalty department. In fact, every department has gone through positive changes. And as a service company, we realize our staff is our most valuable asset, so we take very seriously the commitment to find and retain good people. We have made great strides in technology, primarily in our proprietary administrative software, Perfect World. We continue to enhance the system to better automate our royalty imports and balancing, tracking and auditing of licenses to royalties received, and many other areas which make the ICG services more efficient and transparent. We have completed and paid out on a number of on-site audits of record companies, and have more than a dozen currently in process. Our newly redesigned website, adorned with our new logo, includes a public song search, credit card custom licensing abilities, current events and news items, and will eventually feature a secure member portal to provide our clients with live information on songs, licenses, royalties, etc. The purpose of this site is to provide information for our members, to provide easy access to licensing or requests for licenses of our repertoire, and to show off our family and our accomplishments; both our member clients and our staff. Our saying, “What makes us so good, is the company we keep”, is more true today than ever before, because our family continues to grow with wonderful and talented people. And we continue to strive toward perfection, with our objective of offering efficient and transparent services. As Aristotle said, 'We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.' ” John Barker - President |
